Head honcho, Daddy Ad of the London-based crusaders Trojan Sound System and local music icon, Stick Mareebo join forces on the Paddock this New Year's Eve.
In representing the seminal reggae and ska record label Trojan Records, Trojan Sound System have been bringing reggae music and culture to clubs and festivals across the globe for over a decade. The crew of 4 (selector Daddy Ad and vocalists Supa4 Creation, Chucky Bantan and Jah Buck) are highflyers in their own right and together their sound is unmistakable.
You've heard the name, you know the voice, but have you felt the love (IRL)? Stick Mareebo is a man of many talents. In addition to being local airwaves royalty, he's also a renowned DJ, connoisseur and provider of top grub. No stranger to having (or hosting!) a good time – you can count Naarm calendar staple, Jamaican Music & Food Festival, among Stick's many contributions to the local diet.
With several decades' worth of mood-setting and party-starting between the 2 of them, it’s going to be a powerhouse lesson in love, unity, and reggae. There'll be a lot to learn, even more to love, and all we’re saying is.. Don’t blame us if your hooves are sore on January 1st!
